The Campbell County Airport is also located just outside of the city.
Residents of LaFollette (and Norris as well!) enjoy the city’s small-town feel and strong sense of community. Within the downtown area, you'll find the LaFollette Public Library. In this same area, you’ll also find the LaFollette Recreation Center and Dr. Lee J. Sergeant Park, which is equipped with playgrounds and covered seating areas.
Outdoor recreation is a popular pastime for many residents. There are several walking and hiking trails in and around the community. The Tank Springs Trailhead along Ollis Creek is particularly lovely, and is located right by the ATV campsite. The city also hosts events throughout the year, which includes the Downtown Flea Market, open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The city of Norris is appealing to nature lovers, whether visiting for the summer or living year-round. Located south of Norris Dam State Park, there’s much to see and do, and popular activities including fishing, boating, camping, and hiking. The city also has a disc golf course, but the north end of the city is mostly untouched forest.
Norris Square and Circle Road is considered to be the downtown area. Here you’ll find local businesses, the Norris Community Library, the Norris Commons Arboreum, and the city’s farmer’s market. One point of interest is the Lenoir Museum, which features a historic grist mill built in the 18th century.
Schools in LaFollette & Norris
LaFollette is served by the Campbell County School District. There are two public schools within the city: LaFollette Middle School and LaFollette High School. Roane State Community College is the only higher education institution located in LaFollette. Campbell County High School is found just outside the city limits.
