Lenoir City is a suburban city in Loudon County, Tennessee. Some may say that Lenoir City is the lake capitol of the south. Named after Revolutionary War hero William Lenoir. This peaceful town is located 35-40 minutes from Downtown Knoxville. While super convenient to jump on I-40 for travel, this town is perfect for someone who wants a taste of small town living with easy access to the larger city.

Located 20 minutes west of Farragut, Lenoir City is a suburb in Greater Knoxville. It offers residents a convenient location with all the suburban comforts, including safety and security. The population of this city has been steadily increasing over the past decade, but especially in the past five years. Real estate in Lenoir City is mainly single-family homes with some small apartment complexes. Typically, the older properties for sale in Lenoir City are traditional bungalows, while the new homes for sale are multi-story and designed in a suburban style mix of traditional and modern elements. 

Single-family homes range in price from the low-100,000s to over a million dollars. Factors that determine price point include location, building date, and property size. Potential buyers have a lot to choose from in this beautiful city. However, older homes tend to also be more centrally-located, often found right in the downtown area.

There are usually new construction properties available on the market. The east end of Lenoir City, in particular, is where many of these new developments are located. While architectural style lends traditional in nature, new construction homes often feature modern interior upgrades. Other complexes include Town Creek, Executive Meadows, and Springplace, and amenities vary for each. Lenoir City Amenities and Attractions

Situated on the waterfront, Lenoir City is home to some fantastic amenities which makes this city a fantastic place to live—especially for families!

Most of the city’s shops and restaurants are located off of both US Route 11 (Lee Highway) and US Route 321. This includes everything from hotels to fast food restaurants, with a good mixture of local shops and chain stores. Lenoir City’s residential areas are sometimes just a block away, which makes running the store or dining out with the family easy and convenient. Because of this, in the middle of the historic downtown, you’ll find Central Park, which includes a fantastic playground and splash pad, all in a newly-revitalized area. 

Although much of Lenoir City is residential, there are still many green spaces around the city. Rock Springs Park has remained relatively untouched, and features a small forest trail. In the west end, you’ll find the Fort Loudon Marina at Lenoir City Park—the region’s waterfront park. With tennis courts, a playground, dog park, and a boat ramp, the entire family can enjoy spending time in this beautiful park. 

Other amenities include the Lee Russell Recreation Complex, Lenoir City Museum & Cotton (which features vintage cars and a historic mill), and the Lenoir City Pool.

Schools in Lenoir City

Served by the Loudon County School Board, there are three public schools within Lenoir City: Lenoir City Elementary School, Lenoir City Intermediate School, and Lenoir City High School. Eaton Elementary School and North Middle School are located just outside the city border. The community takes a lot of pride in quality education, which one again, makes for an ideal location for families.

Roane State Community College is also located in Lenoir City.
